What We Do
Dr. Crain's Four Visit Approach to Stress and Pain Management through hypnosis helps you realize a choice to exercise intention and action to help yourself instead of feeling trapped by pain and negative thinking. You will learn how to relax and create positive directed thoughts, as well as a stat of physiological balance in your body. Chronic Pain Affects Mind and Body Loesser states that both physical (sensory) and psychological (emotional) factors affect the pain experience. Chronic pain can actually change your body's physiologic balance, through buildup and then depletion of stressor hormones, such as cortisol, thereby affecting blood pressure and blood sugar, and leading to anxiety, exhaustion, hypersensitivity to pain, and delayed healing due to suppression of the immune system. Learning to access relaxation and place your intention on beneficial thoughts strengthens your healing response. Pain Relief in Only the Beginning of Change Discovering that pain can be made more manageable through relaxation and lessening of anxiety is an important first step in Dr. Crain's treatment. Your mind and body both benefit from the stress reduction, which means better mental attitude, increased confidence (in the process and in yourself), renewed hope, and also improved sleep and quicker healing and recovery.
